I have worked as an executive coach in the media for over 20 years, both with private clients and with companies who hire me to coach their staff.
Past corporate clients include:
* Time Inc (magazine publishers of NME, Marie Claire, In-Style, Woman and Woman's Own and many others)
* Hearst (magazine publishers of Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeing, Esquire and many others)
* BBC
* Conde Nast (magazine publishers of Glamour, Vogue and many others)
* The Oak Foundation (international philanthropy organisation funding projects around human rights)
* Building (business-to-business title for the construction industry)
Coaching differs from psychotherapy in that client and coach agree goals for the overall work and each session and is designed around actions the client takes to get to where they want to be. On the whole, then, it is far more action-oriented and solution-oriented than psychotherapy.
It is often said that while therapy is about exploring how the past is affecting you in the present, coaching focusses at what to do in the future.
